All of the startup pitch finalists will be offered mentoring and training sessions while preparing for the London pitch between 7 June and 22 June 2010.


Mentoring sessions are to be used as the winner wishes. The consultation can be done in person (location negotiable) or via Skype.

DAIVA NARAVAITĖ

Since co-founding AlpinaSearch in 2000, Daiva has partnered with Europe 's fastest growing angel and venture-backed technology companies to help them hire, mentor and retain high impact leaders and build winning global sales teams.

The leadership teams recruited by AlpinaSearch have shaped profitable exits for the founders of many of our clients: trade exits have been achieved through acquisitions by blue chip investors such as Sun Microsystems, Lucent Technologies, Microsoft and Nokia.

Prior to her career in executive search and selection, Daiva held senior national and international management roles at Marks & Spencer plc. She was responsible for introducing strategic market and technology initiatives across M&S Group which transformed the company's marketing strategy and product mix & enhanced the shopping experience for all M&S customers.

Having grown up in Lithuania , and graduated from Vilnius University, Daiva now lives in the UK. Her hobbies include tennis, cycling and swimming. She also enjoys sampling the delicious food at London 's gourmet restaurants and partying the night away at the summer music festivals.

SORAINEN

Sorainen specialises in advising large and medium-sized international and local businesses conducting, or planning to conduct, business in the Baltic States and Belarus. With fully-integrated offices in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Minsk, they are especially proud of the regional nature of their firm, which enables them to assist international companies quickly and seamlessly.

KORNELIJUS CHELTUKA

Kornelijus Čelutka is a partner at MTVP, a regional venture capital fund.  MTVP invests in fast growth technology and internet ventures in Russia, the CIS and Central and Eastern Europe. Previously, Kornelijus worked with Deutsche Bank's Investment Banking Division in London for 3 years and with a regional M&A advisory firm Prime Investment in Lithuania for 5 years.  At Deutsche Bank he advised both leading global technology companies and early stage fast growing ventures on M&A, IPO and private equity transactions across Western Europe and Russia. He also spent a stint at the business development team of Model N, a software company in Silicon Valley funded by Accel-KKR. Kornelijus holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

Business Angels Fund I

Business Angels Fund I is an venture capital fund for investments into innovative and export oriented companies in Lithuania.

Viktorija Trimbel

Viktorija Trimbel currently chairs the Board of Directors at Quantum Capital, the regional investment banking boutique with a focus on Baltic and Belarus markets.

Viktorija has almost 20 years of experience in investment banking and strategic consultancy. In the last 4 years she has been Managing Partner and Chairwoman of the Board at local investment boutique investment bank Prime Investment and has personally lead and managed some of the landmark transactions in the region.


Prior to that Viktorija worked as the Advisor to the President of Omnitel (Telia Sonera group), the largest Baltic mobile operator and was a part of Telia Sonera Strategy group. She was also an advisor to the Minister of Economy in 2000 (the first Government led by the Prime Minister Mr. Andrius Kubilius), Chairwoman of the Board at AB Klaipėdos nafta and held various other key positions.


Viktorija is a member, and past-President of Vilnius International Rotary Club, co-founder and ex-President of the Lithuanian Financial Analyst Association, and a Mentor at Rotary Akademija and Vilnius Startup Weekend.

Rainmaking

  • Established in 2006, Rainmaking is a ‘startup factory’, backing our own start-up concepts as well as partnering with other entrepreneurs and investors to create and grow start-ups.
  • We have offices in Copenhagen and London with 70+ employees (including portfolio companies).
  • Since 2006, we have launched ten start-up businesses.
  • Two of these businesses have already been sold with an exit yield of GBP £8.5m+ on the basis of GBP £3m of capital raising. The exit yield excludes the value of the businesses that have not yet been sold.
  • In 2010 and 2011 Rainmaking expects to start 6-8 new businesses based on a combination of its own and others’ ideas.
  • Rainmaking partners are neither passive investors nor consultants, but active serial entrepreneurs.
  • Rainmaking is behind Startupbootcamp: Startupbootcamp is an accelerator program for European startups. Ten companies are offered 3 months incubator in Copenhagen from August through November 2010. All teams will receive intensive mentoring from 50+ serial entrepreneurs and subject experts. By end of the program all teams will pitch their companies to 100+ investors.
